About Barbara Atkinson
I was born, raised, and raised my children in the DC metro area. In 2006, I moved to sunny Phoenix, Arizona.
I started biohacking decades ago. Sugar, caffeine, and relentless sleep deprivation was required to juggle day care, schools, chauffeuring to extracurricular activities and running a home as a divorced mom while working tons of unpaid overtime in corporate purgatory to pay for it all. I credit biohacking for making it humanly possible.
Then the aging started to set in. In many corporate environments, especially back in the day, if you’re old, you’re irrelevant, and that goes triple if you’re female. Image matters. That took the biohacking journey into medical aesthetics and holistic health, first (and still) as a customer and years later professionally as a med spa owner and licensed laser technician.
Today, my biohacking mission is healthspan. Healthspan is defined as the number of years lived in good health, free from chronic disease or disabilities.
This mission includes consuming a LOT of longevity and health science content, some of it good, some of it not so good, and some so good that it is really worthy of sharing.
The content and channels I’ve found most worthy of sharing can be accessed on my home page. My hope is that they help you discover something useful on your own journey to better health and better quality of life.
